BotaniGard® 22WP has been used by professional growers for more than 10 years. This effective biological insecticide controls whitefly, thrips, aphids, and many other damaging soft-bodied insects on vegetables, indoor/outdoor plants, greenhouse and nursery plants.
How it works
BotaniGard 22WP contains spores of the fungus Beauveria bassiana, strain GHA. BotaniGard controls the most troublesome plant pests -- even those resistant to chemical insecticides. When applied properly, the spores adhere to the insect host and germinate, penetrating the cuticle -- the external surface or skin of the insect. The fungus grows within the insect body, rapidly overwhelming and killing the insect. The BotaniGard spores do not infect other organisms including humans, pets, birds and other animals.
Start your BotaniGard spray application when insect pressure is light. It is recommended that you make one application and follow up with a second and possibly a third application. The number of applications is dependent on thorough spray coverage, insect pressure and environmental conditions. Applications can be made every 3 to 10 days. Heavy insect pressure will require more frequent applications. Large numbers of adults or rapidly building populations may require that BotaniGard 22WP be alternated or combined with a compatible insecticide. (See Spray Mixing Rates link below.)
